Day 13
Category: Insanity Workout Project
We had a busy day and we couldn’t start our workout until 8:30pm. We go downstairs and I see that we have Pure Cardio & Cardio Abs. Since the DVD has two options, I couldn’t figure out what they meant. I ran upstairs to google it and found that we had to do BOTH!
8:30pm on a Saturday. We haven’t had any dinner yet and now we had to do the hardest workout and then another short workout right afterwards. Oh the humanity!
We briefly discussed doing it Sunday morning but I wanted a complete day off and 2 days rest between workouts. My knees have been a little sore and I wanted to give them some rest.
Finally, I just said we’re going to do this damn workout[s] and get it over with. It actually turned out to be a really good workout and except for some small breaks because of my knees, we essentially kept up throughout the entire workout.
It was our first time doing Cardio Abs and I loved it. I could really feel the pain in my core so I knew I was doing something right.
Diet: Been doing really well and we added a few dishes:
Beans and Escarole
- 1 tablespoon of EVOO, couple cloves of garlic minced and red pepper flakes sauteed
- Add some chix stock and escarole, cover until wilted
- Add a can rinsed cannellini beans.
Healthy Arroz con pollyo
- In 1 tbs of EVOO sear a few chicken breasts coated in salt/pepper/smokey paprika. Remove when browned on the outside
- Add chopped celery, red pepper, onion, garlic and carrots. Saute for a few minutes
- Add 1 1/2 cups of brown rice and toast for 2 minutes
- Add 10 ounces of tomato sauce, 2 cups of chix stock and enough water to cover
- add back chicken and about 1 teaspoon of cumin
- Bring to boil and simmer covered until rice is cooked, about 40 minutes
[Also added some cooked kidney beans]
I’m happy to report that I weighed in my lowest yet at 188lbs.
